The UC Tech 2026 Conference, hosted by UC Merced, will be held in-person only from July 8-10. The registration deadline has been extended! Be sure to grab a seat by May 22nd.

Key Information

Who can attend UC Tech?
UC Tech is only open to current UC employees and this year’s committed sponsor representatives.

What is included in the registration cost?
The $300 registration cost includes:

Event Program

  • Wednesday Welcome Reception
  • Keynote Addresses from thought-leaders in tech
  • Dozens of sessions, panels, posters
  • UC Tech Awards Ceremony
  • Sponsor showcase and raffle
  • Entertainment and activities

Food and Beverage

  • Wednesday: evening appetizers, beer, wine
  • Thursday: breakfast, lunch, snacks
  • Friday: breakfast, lunch, snacks

Travel and hotel are not included in the registration cost and will need to be secured separately. Learn more on the Travel page.

Will sessions or events be recorded and shared?
We plan to record the UC Tech Awards Ceremony and Keynotes. Sessions will not be recorded, but speakers may choose to share their materials after the event.

Who gets complimentary registration for this year’s conference?
Complimentary registration is given to primary speakers, primary UC Tech Award winners, ambassadors, and committed sponsor representatives. We have emailed the above groups with next steps to receive their registration. If you didn't receive an email, you will need to make payment for registration.

I submitted a session proposal and/or UC Tech Award application. Should I register now or wait until decisions come out? Will I be refunded if I register now?
Those who plan to attend UC Tech regardless of whether they are accepted/awarded should register. Decisions went out in mid-April, and we are holding spots for the primary submitters to register. Yes, you will be refunded if you follow the cancellation and refund policy deadline. See below for details.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?
To be eligible for a full refund, you must cancel your registration before 11:59 p.m. (PT) on May 30, 2026. To start the cancellation process, please email uctech@ucmerced.edu and provide the following details from your Transact confirmation email: name, email used to register, date of the transaction, and receipt number. Partial refunds are not available.

Attendance

Can I bring guests, children, or students?
No, we’re unable to accommodate these groups.

Is one-day or partial registration available?
No, we only offer full-conference registration.

Is a hybrid or virtual option available?
No, the conference is in-person only.

Registration Process

Can someone else make a payment in Transact for my registration?
Yes, someone else can make a payment on your behalf. Please make sure the name entered in Transact and Guidebook match the registered attendee.

Is group registration allowed in Guidebook? Can I register for others in Guidebook?
No, group registration is not allowed, and each person must be registered individually. However, you can register on behalf of someone else. Be aware that the registration form contains personal questions related to an individual's food preferences, accommodation needs, and choice to attend certain events.

Can I edit my Guidebook registration form responses after I’ve registered?
No, responses cannot be edited after you’ve registered. For urgent changes, please email uctech@ucmerced.edu with your request.

Will there be a waitlist if registration is sold out?
If registration is sold out, please email uctech@ucmerced.edu to be added to the waitlist. Note that we cannot guarantee a spot will become available.
