About UC Tech 2026
In its 44th year, UC Tech is an annual technology conference hosted by the University of California system for IT professionals, technologists, and innovators across all UC campuses. This event brings together thought leaders, technical experts, and collaborators to share knowledge, explore emerging technologies, and strengthen connections. All UC staff and faculty associated with or interested in technology are welcome.
In 2026, UC Tech will take place at UC Merced, the newest UC campus and a hub for innovation and sustainability. The theme for this year’s conference, To the Metal: Reflect. Reforge. Reimagine., calls for a strategic reset across the UC tech community, challenging us to strip away what isn't working, strengthen what exists, and unify as one system. By harnessing the UC’s collaborative spirit and prioritizing shared innovation, we ensure our progress is grounded, resilient, and ready to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
